Daily Mile

Daily Mile

The Daily Mile is simple way to get children out of the classroom for ten minutes every day to run or jog, at their own pace, with their classmates, making them fitter, healthier, and more able to concentrate in the classroom.

Each dry afternoon between 2pm and 2.30pm, all classes will have the opportunity to run, jog or walk around a carefully measured course.  Children can complete this activity in their school uniform, so there is no need to send in PE clothing for them.

The run, jog or walk is not designed to be competitive, with children keeping track of their own progress (with the help of adults where necessary), and building on their cumulative total each day.

The Daily Mile: A Summary By Elaine Wyllie MBE

The Daily Mile is 10 golden minutes of childhood where the children go out into the fresh air and run or jog, at their own pace, every day in their schools and nurseries. Find out more and sign-up your school at www.thedailymile.co.uk.
