Say hello to the new bunch of hard working, busy bees in
Reception! We are going to have so much fun this year!
The Reception children have all settled really well into BIG school! They have been busy exploring, having lots of fun and making new friends. The outside area has been a huge hit and we’re making the most of the last bit of summer sunshine. The children have loved playing on the bikes and we’ve been really impressed with the children’s ability peddling with a passenger on board. They’ve been very busy indoors too – making rockets, painting portraits and playing games with their friends. We are looking forward to the year ahead and have lots of exciting adventures planned!

Reading
The children are currently working their way through lotto words and are tested twice a week. When we feel they are ready, a school reading scheme book will be sent home. Please do not worry if your child is still not on books as they are working at their level. Continue sharing and enjoying their own and school library books together at home. We want the children to have a love and enjoyment of reading, not rush through the books. Once on a book, we will listen to your child read twice a week on a Monday and a Thursday. This is in addition to guided group reading. Once you have heard your child read we kindly ask that you comment and sign the reading record.
