Have a fantastic Summer!

Dear Parents,

We have truly enjoyed catching up with the children over the last couple of weeks. It has been wonderful seeing them and having them back in class.

We would like to thank you for your continued support and kind messages throughout this challenging time.

A huge thank you to the children for all their hard work - what super stars they are!

We wish you a lovely Summer and look forward to welcoming the children back in September.

Best wishes, Mrs Latham & Mrs Foulkes.

During week 3 we will be focusing on:
  • ‘Time to Talk’
  • Playing socially distanced games.
  • Mindfulness activities.
  • Sporty Fun- Virtual Sports Day
  •  ‘All About Me’- How much have I grown? Or Individual Pupil Profile continued
  • Collecting our books and work to go home (Please remember a plastic bag)
  • Hopes and dreams for Year 5

Reading

Please encourage your child to read for 20 minutes each day. Encourage them to read novels, magazines, comics, annuals, poems, facts and more!

Continue to develop their comprehension skills by asking them questions about the text. Please refer to the 'Helping your child at home' page in the 'Parent' section on the website for our 'Book Talk' guide.

Spelling

Ask your child to revisit spellings from their orange spelling book each week. You could even ask them to learn some new words from the list below. These are a list of possible spellings they should know by the end of Year 4.

Remind them to use the method 'Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check'.

They could also write them in different ways: in different colours, along a ladder, in a shape.

Mental Maths

Don't forget to spend 10 minutes each day brushing up on your mental maths skills. You could go over your times tables, doubling, halving, rounding to the nearest 10 & 100, number bonds, multiplying and dividing by 10 & 100 etc.

Google Classroom

Our Google classrooms are now up and running.

Please try to keep the Google classroom as a place to talk about school work.
