Welcome to Year 1
The children have made a fantastic start to Year 1, it is so lovely to see them all together with their friends after the summer break! We have made a wonderful start to our theme 'Super Me' and we are all very excited to begin our Year 1 journey together!

Reading
Please can your child bring their reading book and reading record into school everyday, we will listen to your child read once a week on a rotational basis .This is in addition to guided group reading. We will change the books on a Monday and a Thursday as long as the children have read the book with an adult and the reading record has been signed. Please can you write in the book if you do not want us to change the book and you would like to keep it a little longer, this is absolutely fine! We want the children to have a love and enjoyment of reading, not rush through the books. We will also regularly benchmark the children to make sure that they are on the correct level.
