School History
Our school is situated in Lisvane, a village on the outskirts of Cardiff - the capital city of Wales. The name Llysfaen comes from the Welsh "llys" meaning court and "faen" (or "maen") meaning stone.
Did you know that there has been a school in Lisvane since 1913? Originally it catered for 60 children from the surrounding farms and countryside and the ‘old school’ still exists as a Community Centre in the village and the present school was opened in 1967.
We currently have 444 pupils from Nursery to Year 6 from the surrounding area.
We are now having a brand new Junior block built which is due to open in the near future.
